Why WhatsApp Calls Fail in Dubai & How CapVPN Fixes It
If you reside in or travel to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Sharjah, you have undoubtedly experienced WhatsApp calls stuck on "Connecting..." or abruptly showing "Call Ended". The UAE telecommunications operators (Etisalat by e& and Du) employ sophisticated Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) hardware at the ISP gateway level to identify and throttle Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) packet handshakes.
Traditional VPNs relying on standard OpenVPN TCP or legacy WireGuard protocols fail in the UAE because their packet headers are easily flagged and rate-limited. CapVPN solves this using Hysteria 2—an advanced UDP-based transport protocol engineered specifically for lossy, heavily throttled network environments.
