What Is a VPN?
A simple explanation of how a VPN protects your privacy, hides your IP, and keeps your data safe on any network.
A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, creates an encrypted tunnel between your device and the internet. Instead of connecting directly to websites through your ISP, your traffic is routed through a secure VPN server. This hides your real IP address and makes it much harder for anyone to spy on what you do online.
How Does a VPN Work?
- You open the CapVPN app and tap Connect.
- Your device builds an encrypted tunnel to a CapVPN server.
- All your internet traffic travels through that tunnel.
- Websites see the VPN server IP, not your real IP.
- Your ISP sees encrypted data, but cannot read your activity.
Why Use a VPN?
- Privacy: Hide your IP address and browsing history from ISPs and advertisers.
- Security: Protect passwords and banking data on public WiFi.
- Freedom: Access content and apps blocked by network or region.
- Speed: Bypass ISP throttling on streaming and gaming traffic.
